Digital Calendar Contest: WECT
This is example of a digital contest that I proposed and developed for a previous employer, WECT. Each year, WECT hosts a collector’s calendar contest where members from the community submit their photos of Cape Fear scenes for a chance to be featured in the calendar.
During my time with WECT, I proposed that the organization convert the yearly contest into a digital format. The proposal was approved and in 2015 I created a digital contest utilizing in-house software where participants were able to submit and vote on photos in an online format for the first time. The calendar contest consisted of a landing page, social media promotion, and a digital advertising campaign. All of these elements contained the same copy and imagery to ensure a cohesive look and feel.
That year, WECT received over 450 photo submissions and over 3,800 votes for the calendar contest, increasing participation by over six hundred percent from previous years.
